TOWABILITY
Lighter weight. Many Exiss all-aluminum trailers are much lighter than steel trailers. So they're easier to pull, providing you better fuel efficiency and less wear and tear on your tow vehicle. While some brands have aluminum skin over steel sub frames, our trailers are constructed with all-aluminum materials. This includes the wall studs, floor, cross-members, outside skin and components made by Exiss.
Smoother ride. Radial tires and large 16-inch wheels are standard on most models, providing you a smoother and safer ride. Rubber torsion axles cushion the ride, while independent electric brakes on all wheels allow you slow and stop smoothly.
Strength and Durability
Nose and king pin design
The king pin coupler system is unique to horse trailers and is patterned after semi trailers. The sturdy 2 5/16-inch coupler tube runs through a steel plate, providing you maximum security in case of accident. Some manufacturers butt-weld their coupler tube to a steel plate, making it susceptible to malfunction.
Huck bolt fasteners are installed in the nose and other high stress areas to assure maximum structural integrity. Our Huck fasteners have the highest uniform clamp and vibration resistance available. Each fastener has a sheer strength in excess of 6,500 pounds. Once installed, Huck fasteners cannot back out, crack or malfunction from vibration. That's strength — and added peace of mind for you.
Side Walls
Sidewalls. Thick walls (1 5/8") allow for totally recessed divider slam latches, window bars and doors. These give the trailer one of the cleanest and smoothest inside walls in the industry, ensuring your animals will not get hurt by sharp objects jutting out of the walls.
Side sheets. Our .063 exterior side sheets are thicker than most of the competition and are fastened to sturdy aluminum uprights for maximum strength and rigidity. Fastened compression rivets create a bond that's superior to nuts and bolts as well as pop rivets.
Interior walls feature the same sturdy, well-insulated construction as the sidewalls, making it an industry leader in structural integrity.
Roof
The roof is made from one-piece aluminum, sheet bonded to roof bows on 23-inch centers with a high bond sealant used in building semi trailers. A one-piece roof is very important because seams in a roof increase the potential for water penetrating and causing leaks. Also, our Huck fasteners create a very durable application.
Floor construction
Floor. Sturdy 4-inch I-beam cross-members on 13-inch centers, combined with ribbed, interlocking, extruded aluminum planks that run the full length of the trailer create one of the strongest floors in the industry.
Floor mats provide comfort and traction, and our mats come with a lifetime warranty against defects.
Rear Frame
Rear door. Our insulated, custom-made rear doors are a full 2 inches thick for incredible strength.
60/40 Doors. Event rear doors feature a 60/40 opening for a wider area to load your horses.
Wrap around hinges. Each door has four 14-inch wrap-around hinges, allowing the doors to be flush with the side of the trailers.
Positive latch holdbacks. The rear doors secure to positive latch holdbacks, ensuring the door will stay in place and can’t swing around to harm you or your horses.
Tamper-resistant fasteners are used on all the door and window hinges. Used also in trucks and automobiles, these fasteners make it difficult for intruders to break into your trailer.
Cam latches are used to completely secure the doors from the top and bottom, for added security.
COMFORT AND SAFETY
Insulated horse area
Insulation — 1 5/8-inch thick in all side walls, interior walls and doors — helps moderate inside temperatures and reduce road noise.
Ventilation
Windows or air slats are positioned at the head and tail of each horse, allowing excellent air circulation. They are made with tempered safety glass with recessed bars and a sliding screen to protect horses.
Vents Pop-up two-way roof vents, one per horse area, for added ventilation.
Rear doors The rear doors are fully insulated to reduce road noise. Event 60/40 rear doors open wide for easy loading and unloading.
Electrical system
Electrical wires pass through grummets in posts and walls, reducing the possibility of chafing and short circuits.
Exterior lights are sealed beam to be watertight. Plus all wiring connections are moisture-resistant, so there's less chance of electrical failure.
FIT AND FINISH
Baked-on polyester enamel paint has a much tighter cell pattern. It looks better and makes cleaning much easier.
PVC coating protects aluminum sheets through the production process, guarding against scratches or nicks in your trailer.
Exterior welding. Event utilizes T.I.G. welding for improved appearance and strength. Most competitors use the easier M.I.G. welding, which is not as visually appealing.
Front corner caps on Event trailers are T.I.G. welded into place to give you one of the smoothest, cleanest looking front caps in the industry.
